If you are thinking this would be a great workshop to attend with your daughter in a year or some, we encourage you to attend the Menstrual Education Workshopbeforehand. This will enable you to 'Walk the Talk' and genuinely lead by example, which is what our children need from us the most. It has also been condensed into a 4 hour workshop for your ease.
If your daughter has already started menstruating why not come together, or invite her with her friends, to our Menstrual Education Workshop. We have a special Young Woman price for them. The workshop includes breakout sessions to ensure that all attendees receive age-appropriate content.
Why Menstrual Education matters: When we accurately know how our bodies work, we feel empowered and confident. Who doesn’t want that for ourselves and our girls?
Research has shown that Young Women's experience of Menarche (first bleed) and their early years of Menstruation are crucial to a healthy ongoing relationship with themselves as Women.
Menarche is a Rite of Passage. Each Rite of Passage informs us what is valued in a new life chapter. Menstrual Education workshops assist women to enhance themselves, and mothers to enhance their daughters’ experience of themselves, as Women at every stage of their lives.
Why our own Menstruation & Menarche awareness is important: Otherwise known as ‘Healing the Red Thread or Mother Line’, menstruation & menarche awareness is important to give ourselves a healthy life-long relationship to ourselves, and if you have daughters, a better start and a healthy life-long relationship to themselves.
The initial and crucial knowledge that a girl acquires regarding menarche, menstruation, and the entire menstrual cycle usually comes from her mother. If a mother carries beliefs, attitudes, fears, and ancestral wounds related to these aspects, they may manifest as imbalances or issues in her own body & mind. However, it is possible to self-heal from these inherited beliefs, thus facilitating healing across generations.
